INCORPORATING
All up-to-date software packages on the market that allow you use to create your website will, as a matter of course, allow you to incorporate Flash movies into them in order to achieve certain results. For example, an initial “Please wait…….site loading” page will probably be written in Flash because it can itself be loaded quickly – which is essential. It will also more often than not display a logo and an updated ‘Percentage loaded…’ figure, which gives some idea of how long it will take before the site itself is entered. Very intricate ‘Loading’ pages with sound and music may be accompanied by a ‘Skip intro’ button which allow the user to bypass them and go directly to the site. This is usually the case where more information needs to be displayed before entering the main page. Consequently these can take some considerable time to load.
Banners and advertising are also a prime target for Flash images and simple Flash movies. These can be displayed anywhere on the page but will probably sit around the outside of the main display area. The most important thing here is that because they are written in Flash, they can have links associated with them; and so by clicking on the image, the user can go directly to the website in question without having to enter what could be a long and convoluted web address.
